We only collect the essential information needed to provide you with Retenir's services. This includes:

• Email address (required for signup and login)
• Name (optional, for your profile)
• Notes content (the text, PDFs, or audio you upload to generate study materials)
• Study sessions & quiz data (adaptive learning progress to power spaced repetition)
• Usage data (to track AI credit usage)

Your data is used strictly to provide and improve the Retenir experience, such as generating tailored study notes, tracking your spaced repetition intervals, and managing your account and billing.

We do not share your data with third parties, except for essential service providers (e.g., Supabase for database hosting, Vercel for web hosting). We do not sell your data, ever.

We believe in absolute minimalism when it comes to user data. Therefore:

• No payment data: We do not store or process your credit card information. All payments are securely handled by Stripe.
• No advertising data: We do not track you to serve ads.
• No third-party tracking: We do not use third-party analytics cookies or trackers to monitor your behavior across the web.
• No selling data: Your study materials are yours. We do not sell your personal information or content to any broker or company.

Under PIPEDA guidelines, we ensure your data is kept secure and retained only as long as necessary:

• How long we store data: We retain your personal data and study content as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data (including notes, quizzes, and profile) is permanently deleted within 30 days.
• How we protect it: Your data is protected using industry-standard security measures, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and encryption at rest provided by our database infrastructure (Supabase/PostgreSQL). We implement row-level security so that only you can access your private data.

You have the right to access, modify, or delete your personal data at any time. You can delete your account directly from your account settings menu within the Retenir dashboard. Alternatively, you can request account deletion by contacting us at the email below, and we will process the deletion promptly.
